- Built in 1869, this four-story stone building on the banks of the Kalamazoo River was once the largest buckwheat flour mill in the country. Today it stands as a proud landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
- We’ve honored the building’s industrial heritage while transforming it into a warm, welcoming brewpub where great craft beer meets a scratch-made kitchen. Every pint is brewed in-house, and every plate is made from fresh ingredients.

Drawing from the English bitter tradition, the Plainwell Standard emphasizes malt flavors balanced with floral English hops. - Crazy Beaver — 5.3% — Don't let the name fool you — Crazy Beaver is as smooth as they come. Brewed with a generous helping of maize for a clean, light cereal grain flavor and exceptionally smooth body. Just a touch of noble Saaz hops rounds it out. - Island City — 6.8% — Named for Plainwell's island city heritage, this American IPA delivers everything you want from the style. A clean, bready malt backbone supports citrus and floral hop character front and center. - Cold West — 6.3% — The best of both worlds: all the hop character and flavor of a West Coast IPA with the crisp, clean finish of a lager. - Vanilla Sunshine — 6.8% — Everything you love about Sunshine, elevated with fair trade Mexican vanilla. The natural bittersweet chocolate, licorice, and coffee notes of the base stout are deepened and enhanced by that complex sweetness that only real vanilla can bring. - BEERRH — 8.0% — Our most adventurous creation — a homage to a classic French aperitif made of fortified red wine and quinine. This plummy red ale is brewed with Michigan cherries, Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and quinine syrup (the main flavor of tonic water). - Little Boy Barley — 8.7% — Good things take time. Little Boy Barley spends a full year aging in our cellar before it ever meets a glass. The result is rich marmalade sweetness, velvety caramel flavor, and a warming alcohol presence that's perfect as we await our spring thaw. - Brewer's Batch #100 — 7.8% — Created to commemorate brewer Adam's 100th batch at the Old Mill. This triple-hopped double New England IPA features Amarillo, Calypso, Citra, Mosaic, and Michigan-grown Chinook and Centennial hops. Prioritizes flavor over bitterness with an exceptionally prominent, juicy hop profile.
